Social Simulation Conference 2023
September 4-8, 2022
Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom

We invite you to submit a paper to the special track Transcending Complexity through Agent-Based Modeling in Management, Organization, and Economic Sciences, to be held at the Social Simulation Conference 2023. This track provides a platform for researchers to share their insights and explore the latest advancements in the field of agent-based modeling and simulation.

Over the years, agent-based modeling and simulation has gained significant traction in the fields of management, organization, and economic sciences. This is due to the efforts of researchers from various disciplines such as social sciences, physics, informatics, engineering, and psychology, who have utilized the innovative approach to tackle complex challenges. However, as new opportunities emerge from recent technological advancements and data-driven insights, the field continues to evolve and presents new avenues for exploration.

The purpose of this special track is to bring together researchers who are passionate about using agent-based modeling and simulation to transcend the boundaries of complexity in management, organization, and economic sciences. We encourage submissions that address recent developments, innovative applications, and future prospects in this field. Join us in shaping the future of agent-based approaches in these important fields and contribute to the growth of the academic community.

Topics of interest are (but are not limited to):

  • Algorithmic management: Optimizing management with cutting-edge algorithms
  • Collaborative organizing and bottom-up organizational dynamics
  • Microeconomics ABMs: emergence of market structure, ABM approach to game theory
  • Macroeconomic ABMs: crises, growth, business fluctuations, climate change, sustainability
  • Decoding human behavior through modeling
  • Collective intelligence and group decision making
  • Innovative mixed methods for ABM
  • Ensuring transparency and reproducibility in ABM
  • Assessing the robustness of ABMs
  • Pioneering new solutions with innovative ABM approaches

Submission

We welcome the submission of Extended Abstracts (3-4 pages; short oral presentation) and Full Papers (max. 12 pages, long oral presentation). All submissions should include innovative and previously unpublished work. All submissions must be formatted using the LNCS template, which can be found here.

Accepted short/full papers might be considered for a Springer Book, unless the author(s) choose(s) otherwise. A selection of the best full papers might be published (upon author’s agreement and after journal’s peer review) in the Journal of Artificial Societies and Social Simulation.

Please submit your papers through the EasyChair system.
