I welcome inquiries from motivated students interested in pursuing doctoral research in management, organizations, and complex systems.
My research combines insights from management accounting, organization science, complexity science, and computational social science. A particular focus of my work is the use of agent-based models and simulation methods to study organizational behavior, decision-making, resilience, incentives, and the emergence of collective outcomes in complex systems.
Potential research topics include:
- Organizational resilience and adaptation
- Management control and decision-making
- Agent-based modeling and computational social science
- Complexity in organizations and economic systems
- Artificial intelligence and organizations
- Sustainability and societal challenges
- Theory development through simulation
As a supervisor, I aim to provide close guidance while encouraging intellectual independence. Doctoral students working with me have the opportunity to develop strong methodological skills, engage with international research communities, and contribute to cutting-edge research projects.
If your interests align with these topics, I would be happy to discuss potential PhD opportunities and research ideas. Information about doctoral studies at the University of Klagenfurt can be found here.
